Yearly Restaurant Cleaning Schedule

Imagine walking into a restaurant with gleaming countertops, spotless utensils, and a fresh, inviting aroma. Cleanliness sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. Guests are more likely to return to a restaurant that prioritizes hygiene and organization. Whether you're managing a food truck or a large restaurant space, having a structured cleaning schedule can help ensure that all areas are properly maintained. Need some help organizing a cleaning schedule for the year? We're here to help. Here are some guidelines on what to clean daily, weekly, and monthly to maintain a pristine environment.

What to Clean Daily

On a daily basis, it's important to focus on high-traffic areas and frequently touched surfaces to prevent the spread of germs.

  • Clean all kitchen surfaces and equipment - even underneath!
  • Make sure to disinfect doorknobs, light switches, desks, chairs, handrails, and shared equipment.
  • Wash or dispose of rags, towels, aprons, and uniforms.
  • Empty trash bins and replace liners to keep the space tidy.
  • Clean restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
  • Sweep and mop floors and walk-in refrigerators.

What to Clean Weekly
Weekly cleaning tasks should include more thorough cleaning of the workspace.
  • Thoroughly clean surfaces and equipment, such as ovens, racks, dishwashers, anti-fatigue mats, even walls.
  • Dust shelves, cabinets, vents, and other surfaces to prevent the buildup of allergens.
  • Clean windows for a clear view.
  • Wash curtains, blinds, and upholstery to maintain a fresh and clean environment.
  • Sanitize refrigerators.

What to Clean Monthly
Monthly cleaning tasks are more extensive and focus on deep cleaning to maintain the overall cleanliness of the space.
  • Deep clean areas like kitchens and prep areas to remove grease and other cooking buildup.
  • Clean out and sanitize refrigerators, microwaves, freezers, coffee machines, and other kitchen appliances.
  • Deep clean carpets and upholstery , (yes, we mean move that furntiure!) to remove embedded dirt and stains.
  • Organize storage areas and declutter to improve efficiency and aesthetics.
  • Scrub walls
  • Clean ceiling fans, light fixtures, and air vents.
  • Inspect and clean emergency equipment.

By incorporating regular cleaning routines into your kitchen practices, you elevate the quality of your food, prolong the lifespan of your equipment, and create a positive environment for your guests. Take the time to clean, sanitize, and maintain your tools – your taste buds, your budget, and your guests will thank you.
